FSTC Membership

Why join FSTC? If you have no issues that require technology solutions, no interest in how other financial services organizations are doing things, unlimited resources for R&D, and believe that the rest of the industry will follow the protocols and standards that you set, then you don't need FSTC.

Join FSTC if you want to:

  • Help drive the technologies, protocols, and standards moving our industry forward
  • Network with you peers to see how they address your common issues
  • Be part of creating the interoperable standards likely to be adopted industry-wide
  • Draw on greater resources with your R&D efforts
  • Get trusted third-party evaluations of emerging technology solutions
  • Reduce your risk
  • Share the burdens and the costs of research and testing
"By sharing current and planned technology recovery practices with other large financial institutions, US Bank was able to validate its own recovery strategies against industry peers and better justify its investments in advance of regulatory changes. Collectively, we were also able to identify and prioritize needed product enhancements for technology vendors." — Thomas Hirsch
Senior Vice President
Recovery Management Services, US Bank

Steer Projects To Meet Your Needs

FSTC sponsors non-competitive, collaborative research and development, investigating technologies that affect the entire financial services industry. Through participation in FSTC's Advisory Council, you can:

  • Propose and sponsor projects directly relevant to your organization's needs. The Advisory Council provides an "incubation environment" in which members can bring forward initiatives they want to build, test, or otherwise validate with financial industry providers.
  • Work with one or more Standing Committees dealing with cross-industry issues such as business continuity, electronic delivery channels, emerging technologies, payments, and security.
  • Participate in Special Interest Groups exploring shared concerns and opportunities in authentication technologies, biometric systems, check truncation, self service terminals, Web services, and wireless technologies. A special interest group looks broadly at the technology issues impacting community banks.
"Being part of an objective and independent [voice authentication] study offered great value as we begin to prepare our business case for voice authentication. The FSTC study answered key questions about user acceptance that will be used to craft our enrollment strategy." — Thomas LaCentra
Vice President and Director
Customer Service, Wells Fargo
