Biometrics Phase 2Project DetailsMission: Phase 2 looks to focus on improving identity proofing, with a secondary focus on improving authentication, including detailing and validating the concepts for sharing of Biometric information for reducing fraud.Goals • Establish a project steering committee comprised of FI members only • Explore how Biometrics can streamline operations and reduce time and costs • Explore leveraging industry utilities to implement and enhance sharing • Influence end-use devices that produce common certification credentials • Survey FI’s to determine applicability, usability, and risk issues Deliverables: 1. Document identity proofing as applied across the identity management lifecycle 2. Create white paper detailing use case(s) with benefits 3. Define environment that fosters introduction of cost-effective, industrial strength, interoperable devices that achieve minimum level of performance 4. Define needs statement with guidance that addresses spoofing countermeasures 5. Define basic policy, process and technology requirements for interoperability and privacy-preserving capture, update, sharing and reporting 6.
